Obituary of Donald Joseph Penton
Passed away at the Central NL Regional Health Centre, on Thursday, April 30, 2020, after a lengthy illness, Donald Joseph Penton at the age of 83 years. He was predeceased by his parents Pearce and Mary “Minnie” Penton. He leaves to mourn his wife of 64 years Margaret Mary; sons: Rick (Patsy), Donald (Valerie deceased), Pearce (Debbie), and Robert (Kim); daughters: Dorothy (Bob) Kennedy, Debbie (David) Vatanen, Lisa (John deceased) Adamo (Derrick Sheehan) and Denise (Philip) Snow. He also leaves 23 grandchildren: Wendy, Chris, Patrick, Andrew, Jessica, Kirby, Trevor, Travis, Daren, Michael, Chris, Eric (deceased), Pearce Jr., Bradley, Christina, Trevor, Jillian, Hannah, Andrew, Jordan, Janessa, Dawn-Marie and Brandon; also eight great-grandchildren: Hannah, Adam, Evan, Dante Robert, Ariana, Tessa, Sophie and Drew and a circle of other relatives and friends. He also leaves his brothers-in-law Gerard (Elizabeth) Wall, Bob (Mary) Wall, Roger Wall and their families.
Donald worked for many contractors and Abitibi-Price as a log haul driver for over 40 years.
He loved the great outdoors and had many outings for the family enjoying cookups and swimming and playing with kids and grandkids which always put a smile on his face. He enjoyed many excursions and our Sunday drive for ice cream to Sandy Point.
Wherever Don went there was always a friendly smile for everyone he met. He was a loving devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will be missed by his family and friends.
Due to COVID-19 there will be a private family viewing with burial at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Bishop’s Falls.
