Obituary
It is with heavy hearts the family of Donald Joseph Taylor, announces his passing which occurred on Monday, December 14, 2020 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, NB on February 19, 1934 he was the son of the late Robert and Florence (Patey) Taylor. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his first wife Claire Marie (Holland) Taylor, second wife Patricia Fulton; brothers James and Robert and sisters Florence, Joan and Blanche.
He is survived by his son Donald “Chuck” Taylor of Ontario; daughter Karen McKee (Terry) of Rothesay; step-daughter Cindy Blanchard (Ed) of Saint John; step-sons Richard Fulton (Bliss) of Saint John and Joseph Fulton of Ontario; cherished grandchildren Jeffery, Christopher, Melissa, Joey, Kelly, Michael, Jennifer and Ricky; sisters Jean Sykes of Dorval, Quebec and Gladys Blackmore of Moncton; dear friend Jeff Charleton; and his beloved “Dash the cat”; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Don served his country as a Master Corporal serving in the Royal Canadian Air Force for 25years, during this time he received accreditation from the Federal Government for his part in the modification of parts that extended the service life of the Labrador Helicopter.
He later worked at Colson Cove as a sheet metal fabricator until his retirement.
He was a jack of all trades including building his own log cabin. Don was also known as “House of the Lord St. Peter speaking”.
Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424). His funeral service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, December 18, 2020 at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. Remembrances in memory of Donald may be made to CARMA.
