Surrounded by family at the Peter Lougheed Hospital in Calgary, Donald James Phillips passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at the age of 75. Don was predeceased by his parents, Earl and Margaret Phillips, of Didsbury. Beloved husband of fifty years to MaryAnne Phillips (nee Taks); loving father to Charlotte (Carl) McDonnell of Carstairs, Becky (Wade) Ayers of Carstairs; brother to Linda (Peter) Wollman of Pincher Creek; and brother-in-law of the late George (Bertha) Taks, Larry (Ada) Taks the Darlene (Al) Moore, Gloria (Henk) Oldenburger and Terry Taks. Don was a dedicated grandfather to Stephanie, Sarah, Chase, Alex, Abby, Wyatt and great grandson, Seth. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Crossfield Community Hall on Friday, February 21, 2020 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Don’s memory may be made to the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, 1331 – 29 Street NW, Calgary, AB, T2N 4N2, www.albertacancer.ca/in-memory.

  1. I vividly recall how appreciative we were when Don cam knocking on our door & offered us access to the stove in his RV Trailer during the May snow storm in 1986. Hot food never tasted as good as it did then. A great neighbor & community member.
