Donald Colin Hollett, originally of Burin NL, passed
peacefully away after a brief illness at 84 years old on Tuesday,
April 28th, 2020.
Don was a highly active member of the community as former
Mayor and Member of the House of Assembly for Burin and served on
countless boards and committees throughout his life. He was
a great cook and wonderful storyteller. Don loved his family, his
friends, a good chat, the sea, the land and politics. He will be
deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know and love
him.
Don was predeceased by his parents Donald and May
(Stevenson), sister Joan, brothers-in-law Brian Aylward and Jack
Spencer, sister-in-law Florence Day and father-in-law Herbert
Cluett.
Deeply mourning his loss are his loving wife of 61 years,
Jean (Cluett), children Sandy (Brenda), Philip (Susan), and Susan
(Adrian), grandchildren Alex (Steve), Matthew and Blake, Megan, Katie,
Sam (and their mother Heather), step-grandchildren Kerry and Carly,
great-grandchildren Max and Claire, step-great-grandchild Ross,
sisters Judy (Boots), Gail, and Brenda (Bob), mother-in-law Louise
Cluett, sister-in law-Gertie Spencer, brother-in-law Calvin Day and a
large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins and their families, as well
as many dear friends from far and wide.
Many thanks to the staff at the Burin Peninsula Health Care
Centre ICU and Medicine Ward for their dedicated professional
care. He was always in good hands there.
Due to the current Public Health Advisory of
COVID-19 a Celebration of Life will be held at a later
date. Cremation has taken
place.

4 Site 4A Burin, NL A0E 1E0 or a charity of one’s
choice.
