Don’s Obituary
SMITH, Don Wesley – Master Warrant Officer (Ret) RCAF, Age 82, Clark’s Harbour, left this world behind to meet his Saviour on Wednesday, May 6, 2020 at Camp Hill Hospital, Halifax. Born in Centreville, Cape Sable Island to Bill and Virginia Smith, he was the fifth of seven children. Left to mourn are his pride and joy, his children, Donna (Jeff), Glen (Deborah), Cheryl Smith, and special “adopted” daughter, Gwen Blades. Also mourning are his legacy, his grandchildren, Virginia (Sylvan), Grace (Daniel), Katherine (Eugene), Thomas, Raeanna (Joshua), Ioan, Will, Nick, Scott, Alex, and Alysha; and 14 great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife of 58 years, Marion; sister, Deborah Newell; brother-in-law, Bernard Newell; and sisters-in-law, Violet and Lois Smith. A very heartfelt thank you to the staff of 3 West, Camp Hill, and Roseway Hospital for their excellent care and compassion. A family only graveside will be held in Oakvale Cemetery, with Pastor Nathan officiating. Memorial donations in his name may be made to the Gideons International or Mercy Ships.
