Diane Ward Hanna December 28 2020

Obituary
HANNA, Diane – It is with deep sadness that Don and the Hanna boys announce the peaceful passing of our much-loved wife and mother on Monday December 28, 2020 at People Care, Tavistock in her 84th year. She was the devoted and forever patient wife and partner of Donald Hanna for over 64 years marrying him the day after her 19th birthday. She was the proud and understanding mother to her children Kristine (2015), Steven (Sue), Michael (Lorraine) and Darrin (Susan). Her patient ways and forgiving attitude will be instilled in her adored grandchildren Jessica (Mike), Josh, Owen (Nicole), Laura (Sebastian), Kaitlin (Ryan), Hannah, Robert, Chelan and Brooke as well as her 4 great grandchildren Emilia, Abigail, Georgia and Charlotte. The daughter of the late Ray and Dora Ward and older sister to Gerry (Carol), Diane was a true Woodstonian; born at the Woodstock hospital, remaining here, working and contributing to the community her entire life. She spent her early years attending the Anglican church on Winniett St. where she formed friendships that lasted a lifetime. Her later years were dedicated to her family and the friends she met through the National Campers and Hikers Association (NCHA). Diane worked for several local businesses during her working career but her proudest and most enjoyed time was managing the wine store at the Blandford mall. Her volunteer work with the Ontario March of Dimes, the Heart and Stroke foundation and the Legion affirmed her desire to help others despite physical challenges of her own. Diane will always be remembered as the counsellor for all; offering a listening ear and sound, calm (not always) advice to anyone who visited mom in her living room or front porch. We will miss you mom. Sincere thanks to PeopleCare, Tavistock for their kindness and loving care and for their unwavering care and support of the residents and their families during these trying times. A memorial service to celebrate Diane’s life will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place. Interment will take place in the Anglican Cemetery Columbarium. If desired, memorial contributions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or the Salvation Army Church would be appreciated and may be arranged through the Brock and Visser Funeral Home, Woodstock, 519-539-0004. 1. Dear Don and Family, We were very sadden to hear of your loss. It is very hard to lose a mother and a wife. Madeleine and I want to send you our condolences. In this time of Covid, it is impossible to travel to be with you during this time. I hope you understand.

    Years ago we were ar a funeral in Stratford this Hymn was sung “May God Be With You Till We Meet Again”
    The first verse went like this,

    God be with you till we meet again;
    By His counsels’ guide, uphold you,
    With His sheep securely fold you;
    God be with you till we meet again.
    Till we meet, till we meet
    God Be with you till we meet again.

    The Mormon Tabernacle Choir recorded it and it is on YouTube if you like…

    With Love
    Bruce, Madeleine and family
