It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear father, brother, uncle and brother-in-law Derrick Hanlon. He was predeceased by his parents Nicholas and Laura (nee Hickey) Hanlon and sister Josephine. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his: daughter Samantha, sisters; Leona, Loretta and Joan, brother Nicholas, nieces; Amy, Christina and Darlene, nephews; Aaron, Colin, Bradley, Trevor and Reginald, sister- in -law Rosemarie, Brothers-in-law; Ben, Jim, Len and John, special friend Nicholas, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends.
A special thank you to all the staff and residents at Eason’s personal care home.
If friends so desire, donations in Derrick’s memory can be made to the Canadian Mental Health Association.
Derrick will forever be remembered for his infectious smile, caring spirit and devotion towards his family.
Due to COVID–19 Restrictions and these unprecedented times. Visitation will be held prior to mass. Cremation has taken place, resting at Good Shepherd Parish Church, St. Joseph’s, St. Mary’s Bay. The family will receive visitors on Friday, October 2, 2020 from 10:30 AM to 12:45 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 PM with interment to follow at the Old Sacred Heart Cemetery, O’Donnell’s. Please remember to follow Covid-19 Restrictions and practice social distancing.
