Obituary of Dennis Lloyd Uchimaru
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dennis Lloyd Uchimaru, aged 72 of Sydenham, Ontario on June 21 in Kingston, Ontario.
Dennis was born in Toronto to Amy and Roy Uchimaru on March 22, 1948. He worked in Information Technology for many years, but his interests and passions lay elsewhere. He was a jack-of-all-trades in the best sense: carpenter, mechanic, electrician, plumber, welder, skier, golfer, traveler, boat captain, dog and nature lover, music aficionado, and coach. He could offer intelligent thoughts on everything from Heisenberg’s uncertainty principle to the Three Stooges. If you liked your humour dry, he could have you in stitches. Dennis valued his family and friends above all else.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Nancy, beloved children, Matt and Brant, mother, Amy, siblings Cliff, Charlotte Brick (Pete) and Ed (Gina Pietrangelo), nieces Kim, Chloe, Torrie and Katie, Cory, Lana and Sarah, Ailish, Maggie and Jaclyn, and nephews Dennis, Russell, Hunter and Cameron. He is predeceased by his father, Roy.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Kingston Health Sciences Centre for the excellent care that Dennis and his family received. Memorial donations may be made to Kingston Health Sciences Centre, through the University Hospitals Kingston Foundation, 55 Rideau Street, Suite 4, Kingston, ON K7K 2Z8
