Obituary
Dennis John Storozinski was born August 15, 1944 – the second son of Michael and Mary Storozinski (Radcliff) of Rorketon. He unexpectedly passed away December 11, 2020 in Brandon, MB.
Dennis received his elementary and high school education at the Rorketon School. Following graduation, he took teacher training at the teacher’s college in Winnipeg. His first teaching assignment was in a one room rural school near Alonsa called Armit. On July 25, 1964 he married Marion Fulkerson from Ochre River, whom he had met while at teacher’s college. They moved to Amaranth for two years where he taught Gr. 3 & 4. Then he taught Gr. 7 & 8 at the school in Douglas. Following a move to Grandview in 1967 he eventually became the Vice Principal and then Principal of the K-12 school. Over the years he obtained his Batchelor of Education degree and his Batchelor of Arts degree. He retired from teaching in 1999 but continued to substitute teach for several years after his retirement. He was very involved with the Grandview United Church, the Watson Crossley Community Museum in Grandview as well as the Grandview Men’s Curling Club.
He and Marion eventually retired to Dauphin, where he loved looking after his large yard and enjoying coffee time at Tim’s. For several years he really enjoyed helping with harvest for his brother-in-law Morris.
He was predeceased by his parents Michael and Mary Storozinski, his son Jason, his infant son Kyle, his infant daughter, and brother-in-law Grant Fulkerson.
He is survived by his wife Marion, daughter Shannon McKenney (Gaven) of Burnaby, BC, son Evan Storozinski of Winnipeg, daughter-in-law Jodi Storozinski and his beloved grandson Braydon Storozinski of Selkirk; also, his brother Raymond Storozinski (Gloria) of Dauphin, his sister Ruth Kozak (Tony) of Winnipeg, sister-in-law Linda Fulkerson of Ste Anne, sister and brother-in-law Eva and Morris Mazurkewich of Dauphin, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In accordance with Dennis’ wishes cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Dauphin with a celebration of life to take place at a later date.
