Service Details
Dennis Gustafson, 88 years old, passed away peacefully at the Gainsborough and Area Health Centre (located in his hometown) on Tuesday, December 29, 2020.
Dennis was born at the family farm in the Fern District north of Gainsborough on June 27, 1932 to Walter and Ruth (Winlaw) Gustafson, joining two older brothers, Murray and Donald. Dennis married Margaret Basham in October of 1957, together they farmed until retiring in 1992. They moved to a log cabin in the village of Kenosee, enjoyed golf and RV winters in southern states for 34 years. They moved to the Sandstone Condos in Moosomin in 2015 and back to Gainsborough in October of 2020.
Dennis was predeceased by his parents; his brother, Murray and his wife, Dot; brother, Donald; and brother-in-law, John and his wife, Hilda.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret of 63 years; daughter, Wendy (Gary) Munro of Qualicum Beach, BC; daughter, Karen (John) Taylor of Gainsborough and their three sons, Chad (Janell) Taylor (sons, Avery and Bennett) of Gainsborough, Kyle (Sarah) Taylor (daughter, Parker and son, Nash) of White City, and Landon (Mikki) Taylor (sons, Hayden and Brody) of Gainsborough; son, Blake Gustafson (Shelley Taylor) of Gainsborough. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Braunda; numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held in the spring of 2021 at the Fern Church. The interment will follow at the Fern Cemetery, Gainsborough, SK.
In lieu of flowers, if friends desire, donations can be directed to the Fern Cemetery Fund.
