Obituary of Debbie Tapp
We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved Debbie, wife, sister, sister-in-law, Aunt, Great Aunt and friend. Passed away peacefully at St. Clares Mercy Hospital, St. John’s on Saturday, March 7, 2020. Born in Port aux Basques, NL, she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Irene Skeard (nee Osmond). She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband of 21 years, Gary Tapp, sisters and brothers, Violet (Martin) Cormier, Margaret (Chris) Derraugh, Raymond Skeard, Susan Skeard, Diane Skeard, Robert (Kim) Skeard, mother in law, Gertie Tapp, brothers and sisters in-law, Lorraine Walsh, Velda Tapp, Claude Tapp (Emily), Calvin (Susan) Tapp, many nieces, nephews and friends, special niece, Amy Skeard and great niece, Sadie Skinner, and special fur baby, Trooper. She was predeceased by her brother, John Skeard, Uncle Major Garland Skeard (Daisy), brother in laws, Dennis Pike, Vince Walsh, Uncle Bert Osmond (Jessie), nephew, Dion Cormier, and father in law, Leo Tapp.
In keeping with Debbie’s wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will be receiving relatives and friends on Thursday March 12th from 7-9 pm and Friday March 13th 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Oceanside Funeral Home, 23 Read Street, Port aux Basques, funeral service will take place at The Salvation Army Citadel on Saturday, March 14th at 2:00 pm officiated by Lieutenant Maurice Collins, interment will follow at The Salvation Army Cemetery, Trans Canada Highway, Port aux Basques, NL. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the family. Special thanks to Dr. Matthew Ryan, his secretary Carla, and all the staff of the Medicine Cabinet.
