Obituary of Dean William Coyle
Dean William Coyle (beloved son, father, brother, uncle, and friend) died of a heart attack in his home in Windsor on February 6, 2020 at the age of 58.
Anyone who knew him could tell you of his big heart. He was proud to have partnered with Ray Castellani during the formative years of the Frontline Foundation, an organization that helps feed the homeless in downtown Los Angeles.
Dean has always been a passionate sports fan too. He was the youngest golf caddy at Es Golf and Country Club as a child. He loved the Lions and Tigers, and always said he was a “hockey fan first and a Canadian second”.
After his stroke in 2014, Dean was blessed to have many friends in the Chrysler community (including Teddy Paquette and the late Bruce Eliott) who supported Dean with friendship and more generosity than can be listed. His neighbors also graciously went out of their way to make his life easier in every way. From bringing him home cooked meals and taking out the trash, to helping when he fell and planting flowers in his yard, the kindness and friendships bestowed upon him meant the world to Dean.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents (Catherine and Frank Quinlan) and his father (Robert William Coyle). Dean is survived by his son (Jesse Eliott), mother and step-father (Barbara & Don Miller), siblings (Catherine, Kelly, Chris & JP), and his many nieces and nephews, each of whom he loved dearly. Above all, he loved his mother. He will be dearly missed.
Please join us in a drop by memorial on Sunday, February 16th for 6-9pm at his home (1760 St. Luke). He loved when people dropped in, so we feel this is fitting. Please include #DeanOfStLuke when sharing memories of Dean on social media.
Donations can be made to Frontline Foundation P.O. Box 570303 Tarzana, CA 91357.
