Dean ‘Mitchelmore
Our beloved, funny, kind and loving, tractor driving Super hero, Dean Mitchelmore went to be one of God’ s angels on September 14, 2020 to watch over his loving and adoring family.
After a courageous fight with lung cancer. Dean was born the 1st of 4 children ( Jasper, Jill and May) on August 25, 1959 toRhoda and Graydon Mitchelmore of Green Island Cove, NL.
In his 17th year he attended MUN in Corner Brook, NL for what he always referred to as the most expensive year long party he ever attended! After returning home to fish for a season he later returned to Corner Brook to attend community college where he excelled in welding and before graduating was offered an apprenticeship at the DND Dockyard in Halifax, NS, where he stayed to his retirement in 2013 after 35 years of service.
Dean met the love of his life, wife Michelle (nee warren) in 1981 while back in Newfoundland on vacation and 11 months later they married, raised two children, Michael and Lynsey (Deanie) and had the blessing of two adorable grandsons Darius and Marcus Jarvis to share their lives. Dean showered his family with not only love but wisdom, life skills, honesty, respect and most of all his time. He did everything from being a Boy Scout leader, chauffeur, cookie baker to showing his children and grandsons that they had the ability to be and do anything! He was a great friend to many and took pride in helping anyone in need. He will be truly missed and has left a legacy that no boots can fill.
Dean’s wishes are being fulfilled with cremation taken place. Due to Covid 19 restrictions a celebration of Life gathering will take place at his home, 95 whispers Lane, Glen Haven , on Sunday, September 20th, 2020 , from 2-6 pm. No flowers by request, donations can be made to the family.
The family would like to thank everyone for their love , support and helping hand during this long journey especially the employees(past and present) of DND Dockyard, special friends Steve, Corey and Hudson as without you we wouldn’t have made it through this emotional journey.
LIFE IS NOT MEASURED BY THE NUMBER OF BREATHS WE TAKE BUT BY THE MOMENTS THAT TAKE OUR BREATH AWAY!!
