Obituary of Dawn Alison Crichton
CRICHTON, Dawn Alison
January 6, 1959 – January 10, 2020
In her sixty-second year, Dawn passed away peacefully in her sleep, after a long battle with colon cancer, at Providence Care. Beloved sister of Deirdre (twin), Darcie Snider (Garry), and brother, Bruce Crichton. Daughter of Douglas Crichton (deceased) and Violet Crichton (deceased). Dawn will be greatly missed by her nieces and nephew: Kristina, Nicole, Megan, Isabel and Matthew; as well as her great nieces and nephew: Kayla, Hailey, Annabel, Lily-Anna, Lydia and James. Dawn was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The family later moved to Madison, New Jersey, and then to Kingston Ontario, in 1968. Dawn worked in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan at the University for over 30 years before taking early retirement and returning to Kingston, to help care for her ailing mother. Dawn was a keen reader, game player (especially Scrabble), music lover, television enthusiast (especially British shows) and cat person (most recently Nibs). Dawn had a dry sense of humour and no-nonsense attitude. She faced her battle with cancer with dignity, grace, and stoicism. Dawn will always be remembered by her family, as well as her many friends and relatives in Kingston, Saskatchewan, British Columbia, and around the world. Special thanks to the nurses and doctors at the Cancer Centre and at Providence Care. Donations to the Cancer Society, in lieu of flowers. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
“Sleep in heavenly peace.”
