Obituary of David William Templeton
It is with deep sadness and heart break, that we announce the passing of David William “Fuzz” Templeton.
Dave was born on September 26, 1944 in the “old” Cranbrook Hospital. At the age of 15, he started work at C.P Rail. After several attempts at different ventures, he returned to C.P.R for the next 34 years. He found a passion in the game of golf and was a member on the Cranbrook Golf Club for many years. Before the world of golf, he was an avid pool player, and had many awards and trophies for the many games of bowling. Dave was one of the first bowlers at Cranbrook Juniper Lanes to get a 1000 in a three-game total. He loved all sports, but baseball was his favorite.
After retiring in 2000, he and Janice traveled to Arizona as full-time travelers until purchasing a home in 2015. He was known as “Lucky Dave” at Bingo, enjoyed his poker night and of course a weekly golf game.
David is survived by his wife Janice of 43 years, brother Stan from Meadowbrook and sister Ethel Hughes of Vancouver, nephews Bill, Keith and Rodger, nieces Leanne, Tammy, Robyn and Sandra, many great nieces, and nephews.
David was predeceased by his parents William and Margaret, his brother Kenneth and sister Marina Janzen, and his special buddy McDuff.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David’s honour to the B.C Cancer Center 399 Royal Ave, Kelowna, B.C V1Y 5L3.
Arrangements entrusted to McPherson Funeral Services.
