David Witchel
Passed away at the Maison McCulloch Hospice on Tuesday, April 28, 2020, in his 94th year. Special friend of Helen Pilotte, predeceased. Beloved son of Saul Witchel and Helene Witchel both predeceased. Loving brother of Ida Lithwick (Sidney) predeceased, and Stanley Witchel predeceased. Loving uncle of Howard Lithwick (Carol), Marilyn Kohn (Harry) and Helene Huot (Charlie). Loving great uncle of Stuart Lithwick, Jonathan Lithwick (Elana), Brigitte Huot and Jeremie Huot and great great uncle of Erica, Noa and Grace. David managed the Witchel store in Sudbury, with his father, and David was an outstanding businessman; he was very much involved with the Jewish community in Sudbury. David absolutely cherished his relationship with Helen and he loved spending time at his beautiful camp on Lake Ramsay with Helen and his family. David stayed in excellent physical shape throughout his life and enjoyed daily walks with his friends. Heartfelt thanks to Joyce Williamson of Manitoulin Island who came regularly to visit David and gave him such wonderful care during the last months of his life. Thanks to Ethel Glover and Jim McLoughlin for being so kind to David and his family members this last year. The family truly appreciates the efforts of the health care staff at the Hospice and, in particular, the outstanding medical care provided by Dr. Candice Walton. Due to present circumstances, there will be no funeral service at this time. A celebration of life will be held in the future.
