David Thomas Davis
1938-2020
Dave Davis of Upper Queensbury, NB passed away at Hospice Fredericton
on April 13, 2020. He was born on May 6, 1938 at Culliton, NB, the
son of the late James and Mabel (Moffatt) Davis.
After graduating from Moncton Tech, he taught Shop Class, first in
Southampton, NB then in Rothsay, NB. Dave loved to drive. He was a
member of the Sports Car Club in Rothsay and loved hopping in the car
for a road trip. Dave and his wife Jean moved to Rankin Inlet in 1968.
Dave was a teacher there and entrepreneur. They moved back to New
Brunswick in 1975 to raise their family. Dave was a skilled carpenter
who did much of the woodwork in the family homestead and even built an
ultralight airplane.
Survived by sons Kenneth Davis, Robert Davis (Roxanne) and Jonathan
Fulljames (Helen); five granddaughters, Emily and Sophie Davis,
Kennedy Davis, Anna and Nina Fulljames; a sister, Joyce Barnett; a
sister-in-law, Nona Eastwood (David); several nieces and nephews. He
is sadly missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Jean and a
brother-in-law, Bob Barnett.
The family would like to thank Dave’s sister Joyce for her care
and concern, and the nurses in the palliative care unit at the Dr.
Everett Chalmers Hospital and Hospice Fredericton staff who provided
care for Dave in his final weeks.
Due to the current health crisis, there will be no visitation or
services as this time. A funeral service is planned to take place
when the situation has improved and an announcement will be posted at
that time.
For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Dave, the family
has suggested Hospice Fredericton.
