David L. H. Bulmer
1937-2020
David Bulmer passed away Friday, August 28, 2020 at The
Moncton Hospital. Born in LeQuille Nova Scotia, he was the
eldest son of the late George A. and Marjorie (Hoyt)
Bulmer.
Dave was predeceased by his wife Miriam (Miller)
Bulmer. He is survived by his sons William (Bill) (Wendy)
and Peter, three grandchildren Marshall, Patricia (Tyler Adams),
Eilish (Evan Kragnes), great granddaughter Aster Adams, special friend
Garnetta Wood, his brother Charles (Cherry) London ON and sisters Judy
Bulmer, Sue Burgess, Riverview and Margaret (Late John) Beckwith of
Yellowknife NT, and several nieces and nephews.
Dave served in Ontario, the far North, the Middle East,
Moncton, and Toronto with the RCAF before he and Miriam returned to
New Brunswick and opened Bulmer’s Product Bar. The
business was located on the marsh near the Gunningsville Bridge and
later moved to Riverview. During the many years they operated their
business, they employed many young people from the local
area. These folks remember Dave with great affection, and
many have related stories of how much they learned while working
there. Dave never forgot any of them. He cherished his customers,
appreciating their business and was always willing to offer a helping
hand.
After his retirement, he and Miriam enjoyed many happy years
at the cottage in Sunny Corner. Dave spent the summers there
fishing, entertaining family and friends and helping anyone who he
could find that needed help. The winters were spent in Riverview
waiting for spring to return and of course helping anyone who needed
help.
