JONES, David Allen ~ Age 72, Waterville, Kings Co., it saddens the family’s hearts to announce his passing that happened peacefully on Friday, March 20, 2020, in Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Kentville, he was a son of the late Edward A. and Ruby J. (Ward) Jones. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather “papa”. David was dedicated to his work. He had a 50 year career in construction, working as an aggregate with Standard Paving Ltd., Lafarge Canada and Dexter Construction. He finished his career with Howard Little Excavating. David was an avid snowmobiler and lifetime member of Annapolis Valley Ridge Runners. He loved nothing better than being on the snow and looking at the scenery. David spent many hours operating and fixing the groomer for the trails and loved every minute. He was a generous man who would donate his time to help out at functions with the Snowmobile Club, Cardiac Rehab activities and any friend or neighbour that needed a helping hand. David enjoyed going to car races, the local exhibitions and going for Sunday drives to visit all the car lots. He love spending time with his grandchildren, whether it was going to a movie, attending a graduation ceremony, watching soccer game or dance recital, he was very proud of them all. David will be missed by many but most especially by his beloved fur baby, Addi, who was always by his side. Surviving are his loving wife of 47 years, the former Cynthia D. Fraser; daughters, Shonna (Gerry) VanOostrum, Canard; Kelli (James) Fera, Greenwood; grandchildren, Jordyn and Kaese VanOostrum, Chloe and Amelia Fera; sisters, Brenda (Greg) Moore and Janice (Randy) Brown; nephew, Jeffrey Brown; niece, Melissa Brown; mother-in-law, Mary Fraser and her family. There will be no visitation or funeral service. Interment will take place at a later date in Lakeview Cemetery, Lakeville. Donations in his memory may be made to Valley Regional Hospital Foundation or to a charity of your choice.
