Please note: The Celebration Hall is a grey modern chapel located inside the Mountain View Cemetery complex. For best access, enter through its main entrance on Fraser Street (corner of Fraser Street and 41st Avenue. Drive straight through the entrance and turn right on the grey office complex.
Vehicles may be parked anywhere on the side of any cemetery roads.

Obituary for Mr. Darrell Daniel Abel
July 5, 1953 – November 30, 2019
It is with great sadness that we announce Darrell’s passing on November 30, 2019. Darrell will be sorely missed and forever remembered by his beloved wife Merna, his children, Kristy and Tyler and his grandchildren, Toven and Ceyla.
He was born to George and Phyllis Abel in Dawson Creek, BC, raising his family, together with Merna in Williams Lake. There, coach Abel spent countless hours dedicated to coaching the kids hockey and baseball teams. Darrell and Merna went on to establish House Alpenglow, a B&B in Kimberley, BC before moving to Vancouver Island to be with their grandchildren. During those times they also trotted the globe as adventurous travelers. Recently retired, Darrell and Merna moved to Okeover Arm and enjoyed many days on the water, fishing and enjoying the outdoors and friends old and new.
A memorial service for Darrell will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 3:00 PM, at The Celebration Hall at Mountain View Cemetery (5455 Fraser Street, Vancouver, BC). In lieu of flowers, please kindly donate to Kidsport at:
