It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we the family of the late Danny George Francis announce the peaceful passing of our loving husband, father, and grandfather at his residence in Port aux Basques, NL on Saturday, December 26th, 2020 at the age of 72 years. Born in Petites, NL and worked as a self-employed fisherman for his career. Danny was a kind man who spent a lot of time down on the Government Wharf talking to friends, fishing and fixing nets until he retired.
Danny was the son of the late Charlies and Jessie (Greene) Francis. He was also predeceased by his brother; Raymond (Carol) Francis and sister; Brenda Huffman
He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 33 years Christine, son; Curtis (Kelly) Francis of Port aux Basques, NL, step-son; Scott Baker of Testin, Yukon, NWT, precious grandson; Liam, sisters; Lorraine (Bruce) Brodhagen of Stratford, ON, Edna (Eric) Read of Port aux Basques, NL, sister-in-law; Ruth (Kenny) Lawrence of Isle aux Morts, NL, and brothers-in-law; Emmanuel (Kathleen) Baker of Port aux Basques, NL and Ron Huffman of Aylmer, ON plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 28th from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at East Haven Funeral Home in Port aux Basques. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 29th, at 2 pm from the Wesley United Church in Port aux Basques, NL officiated by Rev. Jane Allen. Interment to follow at St. James Anglican Cemetery, Barachois Hill, TCH, NL. Flowers are graciously accepted and donations can be made to the family. My life’s been full, I savoured much
Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts and share with me,
God wants me now, He set me free.
