Obituary
Daniel Leonard Lewis
1971 – 2020
It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Daniel Leonard Lewis on March 10, 2020 in Kelowna, BC. Daniel was born in Castlegar, BC to George and Gladys Lewis.
Dan spent most of his early life in Castlegar. He graduated from Stanley Humphries Secondary School. He loved cars and tools. His family moved to Penticton where Dan was injured on a motorcycle at age 18. The injury resulted in Dan being in a wheelchair. Dan grew up loving fishing, hunting and camping at Spring Creek Park in the Kootenays. He loved horseback riding at the D-bar-D Ranch. He was passionate about riding his dirt bike in the outback and fishing in the Columbia River. Dan loved adventure, so cliff diving and skiing Red mountain were on the list. He was a recruiter and managed to pull kids from all the church youth groups together. There was nothing dull about Dan’s life until his injury. He was raised to love music and the Bible, “My glory and the lifter of my head” Ps 3:3.
Dan was predeceased by his grandparents, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He will be missed by his parents, George and Gladys Lewis, sister, Carolyn Lewis, niece Hailey Lewis, brother, Joel (Tami) Lewis, nieces, Skyler, Trinity and Destiny, nephew, Austin as well as numerous extended family members.
The family would like to give special thanks to the Kelowna General Hospital staff and Dr. G. McCauley.
