Obituary of Dana Charles White
Dana Charles White, 61, of Bismarck Avenue, Kitchener, Ontario, passed away unexpectedly at his home, on May 29th, 2020.
Dana was born on September 26th, 1958 in Ottawa, Ontario. An Air Force Brat, the family moved often and Dana spent his childhood years in Ottawa, Alsace-Lorraine, France, Sudbury, and London. As an adult he lived and worked in Windsor, Toronto, and Cambridge, and for the last several years in Kitchener- Waterloo.
Dana was an avid sports fan, cheering for the New York Yankees, Montreal Canadiens, Hamilton Tiger Cats, Portland Trail Blazers, and the Dallas Cowboys. He also was a huge fan of Nascar, especially rising star Ryan Blaney. He could give stats for almost any sport and to argue anything in relation to sports, was futile.
Dana was also a walking encyclopedia of trivia, any and all subjects. Those who knew him, knew never to call if Jeopardy was on. He could rival any contestant who was on air. He was also fiercely competitive when playing board games with his family, and played to win.
Dana also loved crossword puzzles. He loved music: The Rolling Stones, The Clash and The Beatles were among his favourite bands.
Dana is survived by his father Eugene, brothers John White (Nicole) and Derrick White (Sara) and sisters Darlene White (James Hilker), Diana White (Murray Bechtel) and Dawn Taylor. He is survived by nieces Kristy White, Jaime Lee MacDonald, Brandi MacDonald, RileyTaylor and Peyton Taylor and nephews Tyler MacDonald, Chase White, Bradley White, Bailey White, Zachary White and Brady White, and many great nephews and nieces.
He is predeceased by his mother Mimi and his beloved cat Moses.
Cremation has taken place. The family will be holding a private celebration of life at a later date.
In honour of Dana’s love of pets, donations to your local SPCA, in his memory, are encouraged.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Dana
