Obituary of Dale Samuel John David Pye
Age 74, Pace Settlement, passed away March 6, 2020 in Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital, Sheet Harbour. Born in Ecum Secum December 31, 1945, he was a son of the late Nettie and Samuel Pye. Dale drove long-haul trucks in his younger years. He drove the school bus for St. Mary’s Education Center/Academy and worked for Guysborough County District School Board for 25 years. Dale enjoyed volunteering his time for the Ecum Secum Ball Hall, Ecum Secum Fire Department, 4H, and was a warden at St. Pauls Church. He loved trapping, hunting, fishing, playing cards, and camping with his family and friends. Survived by his loving wife, Peggy; children, Sherry (Clarence), Dana (Debbie), Susan (Ivan) Fleet, Matthew, Diane (Doug) Pace, Wanda (Kevin) Golemiec; and 15 grandchildren. He was predeceased by sister, Judy. No funeral by request, a private burial will be held at a later date. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 11th from 2-4 p.m. in Ecum Secum Chapel, 429 Hwy. 7, Ecum Secum. Donations in Dale’s memory may be made to Canadian Cancer Society.
