We regret to announce the passing of Margaret Tena Corbett on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at home in Whitney Pier.
Born on December 17, 1943 in Sydney, Margaret was the daughter of the late Edward and Jessie Mae (MacDonald) Pyke.
Margaret enjoyed going to the legion, playing darts and loved spending time with her family.
Margaret is survived by her children, Kim (Melvin), Gregory ‘Bozo’ (Deanne) and Kevin; sisters, Dora, Catherine and Hanna; brothers, Archie (Eleanor), Jackie (Margaret) and Arthur ‘Beanie’; grandchildren, Bretton, Garret, Connor, Keri, Madison and Keagan; great-grandchildren, Easton and Auston; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Margaret was predeceased by her sisters, Anne and Josephine; brother, Angus and sister-in-law, Charlotte.
Visitation and memorial service to celebrate the life of Margaret Corbett will be held at Pier Community Funeral Home, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church St.) Whitney Pier on Saturday, January 2, 2021. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 12 noon to 1 p.m. with the memorial service to follow at 1 p.m. in the All Faith Chapel with Fr. Paul Murphy officiating. Interment will take place at Hardwood Hill Cemetery, Sydney.
Donations in memory of Margaret may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
