Obituary of Colby Hazen Fair
In celebration of a life well-lived, the family of Colby H. Fair announces his peaceful passing, which occurred on Saturday, September 5, 2020, at age 101. Born in Saint John on December 17, 1918, he was a son of the late William and Victoria (Wilson) Fair.
Colby was a member of local 1386 United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners and worked in the construction industry for many years. He was proud to have worked on the construction of all three of the city’s hospitals. He was a long-time resident of Spruce Lake with a keen interest and knowledge of the history of the area. After retirement, Colby remained active tending his extensive vegetable garden and recording his memories of his community’s past.
Colby will be missed by his children: Glenna Cornford (the late Derek) and Kenneth Fair (Cathy); his grandchildren Dana (Angela), Alison (Andrew) and Kendra (Mark); great-grandchildren Daniel and Lila.
In addition to his parents, Colby was predeceased by his wife Beatrice (Carr); Two sisters Elodia Knox and Alice Evans; and three brothers Otis, George, and Arthur Fair.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Bay View Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Rd. Saint John, NB (634-7425). There will be no visitation due to COVID-19 and a private family service will be held. Interment will take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
