Bathurst – Mr. Joseph Claude Pitre, husband of Edith (Poirier) Pitre of Bathurst, passed away at the Foyer Notre Dame de Lourdes on Thursday March 5, 2020 at the age of 71.
Born in Bathurst, he was the son of the late Philias and Mary (DiClementi) Pitre.
Claude worked for years as a sheet metal worker and payloader operator. He was a lover of music, reading, hunting, playing guitar, and loved watching and playing sports, especially baseball. He was a wonderful, husband. Claude was Edith’s shoulder to lean on as she was his. He was a wonderful father who loved his children and grandchildren.
Besides his wife Edith, he is survived by two sons: Philippe (Stacy) of Bathurst and Marc (Tracy) of Edmonton, AB and one daughter, Selena (Michel) Vienneau of Bathurst.
Five grandchildren: Brandon and Cameron Vienneau, Daton, Abby and Danika Pitre.
Two brothers: Kenneth (Nancy) Pitre of Big River and Gerald (Barbara) Pitre of Bathurst.
Sister-in-law: Margaret Pitre. Several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister, Demerise Pitre and a brother, Joseph “Jack” Pitre.
A private funeral service will be held.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Foyer Notre Dame de Lourdes for the excellent care Claude received.
Donations in memory of Claude may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
