July 8, 1949 – May 5, 2020
Dorothy May Strugnell was born to Andrew and Ida Strugnell on July 8, 1949. She married Winston Albert Clarke on November 4, 1965 with much love built a home and raised four children in Port Hope Simpson, Labrador. Family was all-important to them, second only to their devotion to their Lord and Master. Their home was always filled with family and friends. The family spent most weekends, holidays and special occasions at the Clarke Cabin, where food, laughter, fishing, hunting, boil-ups and many games of cards took place. Dorothy was very active in many areas of her community and church. Always lending her hand to any cause or need that arose. She was an avid crafter, and was known for her quilts and sewing. She lost her first love on November 30, 2012 after a long battle with sickness that had her by his side in the hospital for months at a time. On February 4, 2015 she was lucky enough to find love for the second time and with much excitement and celebration married George Rowe. They only got to spend five short years together, but they made them wonderful years, spending time at the cabin, fishing, berry picking, family gatherings and visiting family on the island portion of our province. Left with many wonderful memories: Her loving husband, George, Son’s: William (Cory), Irving (Michelle), Winston.
