Claire’s Obituary
BOURQUE, Claire Celeste – age 88, Nakile Home for Special Care, Glenwood, formerly of Sluice Point, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 26, 2020 in Nakile Home for Special Care. Born February 1, 1931 in Boston, Massachusetts, she was a daughter of the late Marie “Bernadette” (Blinn) and Joseph Emile Surette. Claire worked at the Cotton Mill early in life but once her children where born she prided herself as being an amazing Homemaker. She enjoyed volunteering in her Community and was part of the Ladies Auxiliary for many years. Claire enjoyed gardening, line dancing and quilting. Spending time with family and friends was also very important to her. She is survived by her two sons, Douglas (Carla) Bourque, Moncton, NB and Ronald (Laurie) Bourque, Sluice Point, NS; and three grandchildren, Lucas, Gabriel and Reese Bourque. Visitation will take place from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, January 28 at Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, 29 Albert Street, Yarmouth with prayers at 7 p.m. Funeral Service will take place at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 29, at Holy Family Church, Amirault’s Hill, Deacon Bruce Hubbard officiating. Interment to follow at the Holy Family Parish Cemetery, Amirault’s Hill with a reception will be held at the Twin Village Social Club.
