Clair Miles Underhill
1937-2020
Clair Miles Underhill, 83, of Wakefield NB passed into the
presence of his Lord and Saviour at the Upper River Valley Hospital on
Sunday, December 27, 2020 after complication post-surgery. Clair was a
humble, soft-spoken, kind man who loved his Lord and family above all
else, a loyal friend and helper, a true Christian. “If Dad
doesn’t go to heaven then no one does!”
Clair is survived by sons, Murray (Darlene) Underhill,
Northampton, NB, Stewart (Dawnna) Underhill, Richmond Settlement, NB,
Eric (Bonnie) Clark, Lansdown, NB and daughter, Darlene (Edwin) Birt,
Charlottetown PEI. Also survived by grandchildren, Brandon (Sylvie),
Tyler and Caleb (Ashley) Underhill, Colby (Allyson) and Jordon
Underhill, Chrissy, Dustin and Chance (Nicole) Clark, Tim (Jill) Birt,
Trisha (Randy) Burrows, twelve great grandchildren and one great great
grandchild.
Also surviving are siblings Elva Schriver, Eunice (Hector)
MacKinnon, Ruth (Keith) Manterfield, Roy (Carla) Underhill, Elizabeth
(Aubrey) Giberson, Dale (Janice) Underhill, Mark (Lorna) Underhill,
Larry (Judy) Underhill, sister in law, Barb Underhill, many precious
nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parent Miles and Martha (Stoddard) Underhill,
Clair was predeceased by his wife of 57 years Mary (Tompkins)
Underhill, brothers Edward and Harold Underhill.
Arrangements are under the care of The Carleton
Funeral Home & Crematorium 337 Lockhart Mill
Road Jacksonville with visitation on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 from
4 PM to 7 PM. Because of COVID restrictions and being part of a large
family, funeral will be by invitation only with burial at a later
date, hopefully with less restriction.
Donation may be made to the Greenbank Cemetery, Wakefield or
to a charity of choice.
Due to COVID 19 social distancing and mask are
required.
