Christine Peggy MacLeod
Christine was born in Nelson in 1940 to Norman and Annie MacLeod. The family lived in Procter, where Christine grew up and eventually became Post Mistress for Canada Post, the post office being on the front deck attached to the family home, individual post office boxes and all. This was a role she held in the small community for over 25 years. Everyone knew Christine at one time in Procter and the coffee pot was always on!
Christine lived in that same house in Procter, with her brother Donnie, from her childhood years until her health necessitated a move into Mountain Lake Seniors Community. On September 8, 2020, Christine passed peacefully from this world in her home at Mountain Lake.
Her interests included carpet bowling in Balfour and Procter with Donnie, and playing cribbage. Christine always a keen interest in politics, even to the point of watching CPAC. She always had a great sense of humour and was never afraid to tell anyone what she thought and to tell it like it is.
As per Christine’s wishes, cremation has taken place and her cremated remains will be interred into the family plot in the Nelson cemetery with her mother, father and brother, hopefully in the spring of 2021.
