He eventually moved on to a position at Western Rawhide Saddlery where he made memories he shared his entire lifetime. He became a foreman for CN Railroad in 1976. He also bought his first home for his family in South Junction where they lived for 15 years and grew his family to four children. Charlie and Gwen purchased a quarter of land near the Cat Hills and built a log home. Not only did he build his own log home, but he also built a life with love and memories of his children, grandchildren, family and friends. Charles worked at Marvin Windows in Warroad, MN., for 20 years then he finished his career at SPM Peatbog.
He was greatly influenced by his grandparents, Fidelyn (Rose) Gobeil and Aime (Marie) Lavergne, in his life by learning life skills and moulding him into who he was. His legacy continues on in all his children and grandchildren.
Charles had several passions in life that he enjoyed. He loved sports! Hockey, baseball, football, woodworking, hunting, dogs, gardening, sawmill and his latest most recent passion was to support his grandkids with all of their activities.
Charlie and Gwen were 46 years together at each others’ sides through thick and thin, horses and sports. Their love remained forever strong.
