Obituary of Catherine Mary Cain
CAIN, Catherine Mary
August 3, 1933 – March 12, 2020
Peacefully at Kingston General Hospital after a brief illness, Catherine passed away surrounded by love of family. She is survived by her sisters Dorothy Squire and Betty Skelly, both of Kingston. She will be greatly missed by her nieces Mary Murphy (Don) of Sydenham, Maureen Finn (Neil), Margaret McDonald (Mark), Sheila Fowler (Ed), all of Kingston and by her nephews Jim Squire (Sandy), of Kingston, Andrew Skelly (Diane), of Brampton and Michael Skelly (Heidi), of Toronto. Catherine will be fondly remembered by many great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
Catherine is predeceased by her parents James and Laura Cain, her dear Uncle Frank, sisters Rita Hilton and Eileen Cain, her brother Joseph Cain, as well as brothers-in-law Cecil Hilton, Richard Squire, Hugh Skelly and sister-in-law Vivian Cain and niece Anne Byrne. The family would like to thank the medical teams that looked after Catherine, as well as the caring staff of Kidd 5.
Family and friends will be received at JAMES REID FUNERAL HOME, 1900 John Counter Blvd., on Sunday, March 15 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at ST. JOSEPH’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 392 Palace Road, on Monday, March 16 at 2:00 pm, with Monsignor Joseph Lynch celebrating. Rite of Committal with Prayers at St. Mary’s Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to University Hospitals Kingston Foundation.
