Obituary of Catherine Ann Montrose
MONTROSE, Catherine Ann “Kay”
Passed away peacefully at Providence Care Hospital in Kingston, Ontario, on Wednesday, May 27th, 2020 in her 91st year in the presence of family members.
Predeceased by her husband Harold “Hal” Montrose, whom she met at Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, and from which they both graduated. Although they ultimately settled in Kingston, they spent most summer and Christmas holidays at her birthplace and family home of Ellershouse, Nova Scotia, for as long as her parents lived there.
Kay and Hal were world travellers, a perfect complement to her love of photography. They were also avid curlers and bridge players.
Hosting family gatherings always brought Kay great joy. She was a loving mother to Karen Robinson (Mark), David Montrose (Heather), Susan Brown (Jim) and Michael Montrose (Anne). Treasured grandmother of Ian Robinson, Sarah Tesar (Jonathan), Kyle Robinson (Somya), Daniel Montrose (Emily), Cameron Montrose (Christena), Jennifer Hamelin (Justus), Colin Montrose and Devin Montrose. Kay adored her great-grandchildren, Stella Montrose, Jackson Montrose, Iris Tesar, Rhys Brown, Asher Brown, Skylar Hamelin and Violet Hamelin.
A private service will be held at a future date in Ellershouse, Nova Scotia.
The family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
