ARTINDALE – Catherine “Peggy”
Passed away peacefully at Nipissing Manor on Wednesday February 19, 2020 while in her 99th year. Peggy was born in Saskatchewan and following the death of her mother was raised by Harriett and Russell Cornish. In her early twenties she moved to southern Ontario where she worked in a war plant and a canning factory before relocating to North Bay. For many years Peggy worked in the dry cleaning business, for City Laundry, Owen’s Cleaners and One Hour Martinizing. Her friendly nature and wry sense of humour made her many friends over the years. She loved the out of doors, camping, fishing and snowmobiling. In her retirement years she learned woodworking. Peggy leaves behind many friends who loved her and some who referred to her as Nanna Peggy. In particular she held a special place in the hearts of Penny Avery, Angel Beaulieu, Steve, Kyle and Kaylee Duchesne, Carol Brush, Robert Roy, Jennifer, Richard, Chesley, and Arthur Lefebvre. Penny would like to thank the staff at Nipissing Manor for the compassionate care they provided to Peggy. As per her wishes cremation has taken place, no services will be held.
