Catherine Hope Cathee Shantz Dubblestyne Saturday December 19th 2020

The family of Catherine “Cathee” Shantz (née Dubblestyne) of Sudbury, ON is saddened to announce her passing on Saturday, December 19, 2020 after a lengthy battle with ovarian cancer. She was 69 years old.
Diagnosed with cancer just before the birth of her first grandchild, Cathee displayed both perseverance and personal strength, enduring countless treatments in order to spend more time with her family. She truly cherished the time spent with her grandchildren. Her greatest joy and biggest smiles came from watching them play and reading along during bedtime stories.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Taylor (David); grandchildren: Charlotte and Theodore; brothers: Dan (Carol), Brian (Kathy), and Jim (Sandy); as well as numerous relatives and friends. Cathee was predeceased by her parents: Lloyd “Henry” and Gloria (née Stoddard).
In light of COVID-19, a private family service will take place at a later date. Memorial donations in memory of Cathee can be made to the Northern Cancer Foundation.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to Dr. Olsten and Dr. Pitre for their care and compassion as well as the staff of the Maison McCulloch Hospice who cared for her during her last days.
