Catherine “Kay” A. Gouthro
Frenchvale
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Catherine Ann “Kay” Gouthro, age 86, on Friday December 25, 2020 at the Northside Community Guest Home.
Born in Inverness, August 19, 1934, Kay was the daughter of the late George and Isabel (Gillis) MacDougall. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church, Frenchvale. She worked as the cook at Talbot House for many years before retirement. Kay was an avid gardener and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Kay is survived by her sons George, David and James Gouthro, all of Frenchvale, daughter Marie (Wayne) Costello, Karen Gouthro, both of Point Edward, Louise (Kevin) MacPhail, Frenchvale, Diane MacDougall, Calgary, special daughter Cindy Boutilier, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren, sisters Rita (Dominic) Picano, Cambridge, ON, Georgina Musgrave, New Waterford, also a number of nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents Kay was predeceased by her husband Dan Gouthro, sisters Mary (Vic) Aucoin, Mosie MacDougall and Emma in infancy, a brother John MacDougall.
Due to covid-19 restrictions there will be no visitation. A private family funeral mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church, Frenchvale with Rev. Vargheese Puthuparambil officiating. Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney.
