Carolyn Martha (nee Over) Dennis Deacon
June 28, 1942 – October 13, 2020
We are deeply saddened to share the news of the loss of our mother, Carolyn, who has joined her parents, John & Burnette Over & her sister, Roberta of Minneapolis and her husband, James Deacon of Picton. Her passing was unexpected but peaceful. She leaves behind her five children, 13 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. Jill & Barry Raycroft (Corbyville), Jane Dennis-Marshall (Muscatine, Iowa), Joshua & Isabelle Dennis (Carp), Jonathan & Susanne Dennis (Beeton) and James Dennis & Melanie Young (Guelph), along with their children: Liam & Kallan; Abigail (daughter Elizabeth), Andrew & Amelia Marshall; Gabrielle & Alex; Johanna, Timothy & Reuben; and Linnea, Eden & Graham. We are all so thankful for the time we had her. She was a paragon of strength, resilience and practicality. She found her calling as a physiotherapist and was still working (a bit); one of her last conversations was to apologize she wouldn’t be able to see her patients this week. Her other greatest concern was that she hadn’t been able to celebrate her grandchildrens’ birthdays the past 8 months. We will miss her beyond measure and share our sorrow with her neighbours on Queen St., her extended working family from QDR. She supported a number of churches and charities including Fraser Presbyterian in Tottenham, Kortright Presbyterian in Guelph and the Salvation Army in Picton and we all remember our World Vision foster children. In lieu of flowers, donations to any of those organizations or your charity of choice would serve her memory. Friends are invited to attend a visitation at the John R. Bush Funeral Home, 80 Highland Ave, Belleville (613-968-5588) on Saturday, October 17th between the hours of 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. (attendees MUST register by phone, or email jrbush@rushnellfamilyservices.com). Masks required, and attendance is subject to maximum capacity regulations. For online condolences, pleas visit www.rushnellfamilyservices.com
