It is with great sadness that the family of Captain Victor Morash, 84, of Lunenburg announces his passing on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at Harbour View Haven Home for Special Care, Lunenburg.
Born in Blue Rocks, he was the son of the late Jessen and Vera (Tanner) Morash. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Victor spent his working career on the sea. His earlier years as a deckhand, and later in his career, as a Captain of both fish and scallop draggers. After his retirement, he enjoyed the outdoors, cutting trees, and time spent on his four wheeler.
He always had a twinkle in his eye when in the presence of or at the mere mention of his grandchildren. They held a huge place in his heart.
Victor is survived by his sons; Kent (Janet), Lower Sackville, Jeffrey (Sherry), Bridgewater, Jay (Sharon), Lunenburg; grandchildren, Jessica (Jordan), Justin ( Allie), Corey, Laura and Libby; sister-In Law, Barbara and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, the former Rhoda Selig; brothers, Percy, Frederick and sisters Irene, Bertha, Jean, Josephine and Ada.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213 Hwy #3, Lunenburg and from where a private family only memorial service will be held on Monday, November 2, 2020. Rev. Lee Simpson officiating. Interment to follow at Upper Blue Rocks Cemetery, Blue Rocks.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to Harbour View Haven Home for Special Care, Lunenburg or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by family.
