FOA, Bruni – It is with great sadness that the family of Bruni Foa announces her passing on Sunday, June 14th, 2020 at the Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton, at the age of 85. Bruni will be deeply missed by her children Raphael and Monique, grandchildren Adam, Cassandra and Brandon, and great-granddaughter Destiny. Bruni was predeceased by Robert, her husband and best friend of 51 years, and her brother Bert Lehnen. Bruni was born in Germany, surviving the extreme challenges of the War with her family. As a young woman, she began her career as a communications operator with the British Embassy in Bonn, Germany. At the same time, her singing talent and angelic voice led Bruni to a career as a singer, mostly of opera but also of folk songs. During her career, she performed at many opera houses and theaters, and even produced several records. But her life really took off when she met her husband Robert, who swept her off her feet. She gave up her singing career and moved to Milan Italy with him, where she started her family. Bruni immigrated to Canada with her husband and children in 1977, and made Brantford her new home. Her continued love and support for Robert and her children never faltered. Bruni will always be remembered as a beautiful, loving, kind hearted and compassionate woman. She fought a brave battle against cancer, and throughout it all she was always the first to want to lend a helping hand and provide support to her family. Bruni will be sadly missed by her family and friends, but will forever remain an inspiration to all who knew her. Family and friends will be received at the TOLL FUNERAL HOME, 55 Charing Cross Street, Brantford on Friday June 19, 2020 from 1-3 & 6-8 p.m. A celebration of life will be held at Dennis Toll Funeral Home on Saturday, June 20 2020 at 10:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at Our Lady of the Assumption Mausoleum, Holy Cross Cemetery, Paris. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Salvation Army, the Canadian Cancer Society or the Juravinski Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
