Brown Jean 2020

Jean Brown of Lambton Shores was welcomed into her Lord and Saviours arms Monday morning, March 9, 2020, at Bluewater Health in Sarnia in her 87th year.
Born Elma Jean VanEllen, Jean became the beloved wife and best friend of Bob Brown in 1960. Together they raised their family of Charisse (Gary) Wozniak, Bob (Kelly) Brown, and Tiffany (Rob) Wilkinson. Jean was blessed to leave a legacy in her grandchildren, Amelia, Ben, Alex, Adam, Luke, Emily, Amanda, and Ashlyn.
Jean will be missed by her siblings Bob Meinders and Judy Meyst and is predeceased by her parents, siblings Harriet Finer, Lloyd VanEllen, Dwayne VanEllen, son in law Michael Porzondek and granddaughter Rebekah Wilkinson.
A woman strong in her faith, Jean loved to read her Bible and spent hours in quiet time and prayer, always known for her grace and gentle spirit. Jean took great pride in raising her family, making jams and growing bushels and bushels full of tomatoes, sharing every bushel with friends, family, and neighbours. Weekends were spent, entertaining friends and family at the farm; she touched the lives of everyone who knew her.
A visitation will be conducted on Friday, March 13, 2020, at Gilpin Funeral Chapel, 123 King Street, in Forest from 3pm-8:30pm and Saturday, March 14, at Lakeshore Gospel Hall, 8908 Fuller Road in Lambton Shores from 10am-11am. A service will follow at 11am with interment taking place at the Ravenswood Cemetery.
Donations are appreciated in Jean’s name to the Bluewater Health Palliative Care Unit in Sarnia. Arrangements are entrusted to Gilpin Funeral Chapel, please leave a memory or condolence online at www.GilpinFuneralChapel.com
