Obituary for the Late Brian (Wayne) Mombourquette
Brian (Wayne) Mombourquette, 73, passed away peacefully at Richmond Villa, St. Peter’s Nova Scotia on May 3, 2020, with his sister Anita by his side. Born in Lower L’ardoise on March 13, 1947, he was the son of the late George E. Mombourquette and Mae (Ferguson) Mombourquette. Wayne is survived by brothers, John (Nancy), Allister (Marilyn), Graham (Colleen), Joseph (Bernadette), Ricky (Lottie), Allan (Barb), Ronnie (Krista); sisters, Linda (Larry), Rose (Teddy), Anita (Wilfred), Krista (Louie), Heather (Kelvin) and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his extended family, Albert (Helen), Sally, Vernon, and Wendell (Joni) Murphy.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Joan (Murphy) Mombourquette and his brother, Willard.
Wayne, better known as Brian to his Dartmouth friends, spent many hours volunteering at the Dartmouth Food Bank (Woodlawn United Church). Over the years, he was an insulator and member of Local 116 Insulators Union working at various jobs in Halifax, Dartmouth and Cape Breton.
Although he had no children of his own, he enjoyed seeing children and spending time with many great-nieces and nephews. His face would light up with joy when seeing the little ones.
We would like to thank the Nursing Staff, Environmental, Laundry and Dietary staff for all playing an important part in Wayne’s daily care.
Cremation has taken place. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, burial will be at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Green’s Funeral Home, 507 Bernard St., Port Hawkesbury. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.greensfuneralhome.ca .
Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or The Ronald MacDonald House.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Brian Wayne Mombourquette March 13 1947 May 03 2020..
