Brian Walter Campbell Sunday March 22nd 2020

Campbell, Brian Walter, of Brookfield, formerly of Beaverbank, completed his journey on March 22, 2020 at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Truro, a son of the late Kenneth Campbell and Eloise Yorke and raised in Stewiacke East on the Willow Bend Farm. Brian is survived by his wife of 48 years, Gwen; sons, Joel (Juliet), Enfield and Peter (Jackie), Gatineau, QC; his grandchildren, Ruby, Porter, Harriet, Sawyer, Audrey and Anna; brother, Jack(Carol) in England as well as nieces and nephews. His wonderful grandchildren were always in his heart and mind. Before his passing, Ruby (13) modeled for Papa, her graduation dress and Audrey (6) would read him a bedtime story each night. Brian loved his time at the family cottage at Shortts Lake and was happiest when family and friends joined him there. Watching his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews enjoy swimming, boating and barbequing, gave him tons of pleasure. He enjoyed spending time with friends and son, Joel, at his log cabin during hunting season and managing his woodlot. Brian was also a passionate motorcyclist and member of the Retread Motorcycle Riding Group. He and his wife enjoyed many motorcycle trips and memories over the years with their friends in the group. Brian and Gwen enjoyed travelling to the USA, Caribbean, China and their cruises abroad. He always talked about his special trip with Peter driving across Canada in 2000. One of his happiest moments was when he and Gwen moved home to Brookfield in 2017 and being closer to family, friends, the cottage and log cabin. Brian retired in 2011 from Sun Life as a Director of Estate Planning. He enjoyed his short time in the air force and his career working with The Bank of Nova Scotia and Royal Bank before joining Mutual Life. He was a former member of the Kinsmen Club of Sackville and a member of the Brookfield Golf and Country Club. The family wishes to thank the nurses and doctors in the CEHHC Palliative Care Unit as well as the staff of the Cancer Team in the Dixon Center in Halifax for their compassionate care. Arrangements have been entrusted to Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. A celebration of Brian’s life will be held at a later date due to the current global health issues. Donations in Brian’s memory may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Nova Scotia, Colchester East Hants Health Centre or a charity of choice. On line condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.ColchesterCommunity.com.
