In loving memory of Brian McGinn, age 58 years, who passed away unexpectedly at his residence on May 21, 2020.
Brian is survived by his sons: Michael (Reaghann) and Scott McGinn, both of Dryden, by grandchildren Shaydin, Myah, Lincoln and Scotlynn, step-father William Saunders as well as other relatives.
He was predeceased by his mother Jean Saunders, and father Benjamin McGinn.
Born in Dryden, Brian worked in the bush in Dryden and Red Lake. He loved harvesting trees with a chainsaw and was deeply disappointed when he was forced to retire early due to illness. He moved to Kenora where he developed a passion for bicycling spending many hours putting on endless miles which was excellent therapy. He also enjoyed gardening and belonged to the Kenora Challenge Club which was a great support for him. He returned to Dryden in 2016 where he was reunited with his family and enjoyed training at the Recreation Center and biking.
In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place and his ashes will be interred privately in the Dryden Cemetery with his mother, at a later date. Should friends desire donations to a charity of your choice may be made online or through the Stevens Funeral Homes, P.O. Box 412, Dryden P8N 2Z1. Condolences may be posted at stevensfuneralhomes.ca.
You never said I’m leaving
You never said goodbye
You were gone before we knew it
And only God knew why
In life we loved you dearly
In death we love you still
In our hearts you hold a place
None could ever fill
It broke our hearts to lose you
But you did not go alone
For part of us went with you
The Day God Called You Home
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Brian McGinn January 24 1962 May 21 2020..
