Brian James Coburn
1953-2020
It is with sad hearts that the family of Brian James Coburn of
Miramichi, NB announce his passing on December 16th 2020 at the DECH.
He was the son of Berneice (Crowley) Coburn Messer and the late James
Coburn of Harvey, York County NB, and stepson of Hayes Messer. Brian
grew up in Harvey and after graduating from Harvey Regional High
School in 1972, he attended St. Andrews Community College to take
Electrical.
As an electrician, Brian was an active member of the Union Local 2166
where he served as a shop steward for a time over his 35 years of
service. He worked on several projects in Fort McMurray, AB, Moose
Jaw, SK, and Belledune in Saint John, NB, where he made many long
lasting friendships.
Brian enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and socializing in the
company of his friends. He volunteered with the Auxiliary RCMP and was
a member of the United Church. He enjoyed trucking and had his own
long haul trucking company.
In the last few years he enjoyed the many phone conversations about
politics and the good old days with his work buddies and family and
friends.
He is predeceased by his father and two infant siblings Cathy and
Kevin.
Brian is survived by his two daughters Tonya Coburn, Edmonton, AB and
Kim Coburn, Calgary, AB; his mother Berneice Coburn Messer (Hayes); a
brother Richard (Cindy), High Level, AB; sisters Sherry Johnston
(Darren) and Corine Coburn of Harvey, NB; an uncle Raym Mererseau
(Shirley); several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Due to the pandemic, there will be no visitation or funeral service.
Interment will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the St Andrews United Church in
Harvey, Harvey Settlement Cemetery or a charity of the donor’s
choice.
