Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brenda, beloved wife and mother. Husband of 54 years, Norman, passed in 2018.
Her presence will be greatly missed by her daughters, Nikki (Kirk; grandchildren Kandis and Bradley) and Lisa (grandchildren Dario, Rico and Enzo); sister-in-laws Mary Karuza, Marie Willey, and Annie Kerns.
Brenda grew up in Vancouver, B.C. and also spent a few years in her youth in the Cariboo area where she returned in her retirement with Norman, first in Lac la Hache, and later in 108 Mile House. She enjoyed a full life of many adventures with a true entrepreneurial spirit. From owning the Bunkhouse nightclub in her youth, driving demolition cars, breeding and racing standardbred and thoroughbred racehorses, operating two family businesses: Westland Feeds and Farms in Aldergrove and the Homezone Furniture in Abbotsford, as well as selling real estate, Brenda did not know the word ‘boring’. Her favorite hobbies were renovating houses with Norman and dabbling in the arts as a painter. She was an active member of the 100 Mile Auction Group and a proud member of the White Cane Club in 100 Mile House. She passed after a long battle with diabetes and its devastating consequences in Edson, Alberta.
Brenda’s wishes are that in lieu of a service, she is remembered through private reflections and personal memories.
