It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brenda Ann Williamson on Monday, February 10, 2020, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends in her final days.
Born and raised in Blacketts Lake, Brenda was the daughter of Cyril and the late Ivy Williamson.
Brenda was an avid crafter and enjoyed vacationing after her retirement from the MacGillIvray Guest Home.
She was predeceased by her loving partner, Roddie Watkins.
Brenda is survived by her children, Christa (Tommy) Trainor, Lindsey, Jessica and Cyril (Kailin) MacDonald; grandchildren, Lily, Mya, Sofie and Zoey; and her sister, Susan.
Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Thursday, February 13 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will take place in the chapel on Friday, February 14 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Dana Feltmate officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.
The family of Brenda would like to thank the incredible staff and volunteers of the Cape Breton Cancer Centre and An Cala, Palliative Care Unit, where she spent her final days.
Donations in Brenda’s memory can be made to the Cape Breton Cancer Centre, the Red Cross or the Hospice Palliative Care Society of Cape Breton County.
