Sunday, February 16th, 2020, is a date that will be infinitely marked in our hearts. At the young age of thirty-four, Bradley James King was taken from his loving family and friends. While this sudden, devastating, and unexpected loss has left us blindsided, with so many unanswerable questions, there is one thing we know for sure—what was lost in years, was not lost in love. Those closest to Brad know, that his family was the foundation of his life; the heart and soul of his world. He devoted himself entirely to the happiness and well-being of those most important to him: his soulmate and life partner, Amanda; his adoring and dedicated parents, Gerry and Robb; and his most precious sidekick, Tucker. Beyond his extended family—numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends—Brad is also leaving behind the second family he acquired throughout his relationship with Amanda: loving parents, Lina (Mike), Vito (Gloria), and brother, David.
We will be welcoming condolences at: Complexe funéraires Yves Légaré, 14370 Pierrefonds Blvd, Pierrefonds (Quebec) H9H 4R7 on Tuesday, February 25th for a visitation from 4 to 7 p.m., followed by a short celebration of life. To commemorate Brad’s profound love for animals, dogs in particular, in lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to the Montreal-based rescue centre, R.A.D. (Rescue All Dogs). Brad was a simple, yet passionate person. He was an avid lover of football, Harry Potter, long naps with Tuck, Amanda’s cooking, and of course, spending quality time with those closest to him. He and Amanda’s house was always full; with people, baked goods, and love. As an electrician, his work ethic was admirable. Being the helpful and selfless person he was, when he wasn’t on the job alongside his buddies at work, he was busy doing side jobs for family and friends, or carrying-out projects in the beautifully renovated home that he and Amanda created together. In retrospect, his profession as an electrician was clearly the perfect fit, as he brought light to the lives of so many. Although his life with us has ended too soon, according to J.K. Rowling, “death is but the next great adventure,” and that is our everlasting wish for Brad. So here is to a world filled with dogs and comfy couches; that has an infinite supply of poutine, ice cream and nougat; where every day is Super Bowl Sunday (and the Broncos always win); and the Harry Potter series is playing on repeat—let the adventure begin.
