Obituary
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved patriarch Boe Erickson on August 12, 2020 in the Edson Hospital.
Boe Sigvard Erickson was born January 31, 1925 in Edsele Sweden to parents Algot and Agnes Erickson. Boe was the youngest of 11 children. The Erickson family immigrated to Canada and collectively settled on a piece of land south of Chip Lake near what is now Wildwood, Alberta in 1928. The land is still owned by an Erickson family descendant.
Boe Erickson meant so much to so many and was a bright beacon of light in all our lives. To know Boe was to absolutely love and adore him. He was so many things to so many people over his long lifetime of 95+ years – a Navy Veteran, a Hero, a family man and provider, a two-time cancer survivor, a tireless worker, a loyal and dedicated volunteer, an inspiration, a kind and gentle yet brave and courageous soul, a friend to everyone who crossed paths with him and a pillar in his Community. He had a hug for everyone, even a stranger. Boe touched all our hearts in some way and was a true gem of a man.
He is survived by his beloved wife Dorothy, his 2 daughters Judy (Pat) and Barb, 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; 5 step daughters, 1 stepson, 13 step grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was predeceased by his parents, 10 siblings, by his only son Dale in 1971, his wife of 50 years Roberta (Bertie) in 1999, sons in law Jim in 2013 and Larry in 2020.
May God bless and keep him…FOREVER IN OUR HEARTS.
A public Memorial will be held at a later date at the Wildwood Agricultural Grounds.
