Obituary of Bob Moskalyk
On December 14, 2020, Robert Moskalyk passed peacefully at Royal Rose Place in Welland. He was born on April 13, 1939 in Welland, Ontario and was a proud Crowland boy. Bob is survived by his devoted wife Isabella, and his sons Bobby (Delene), Martin (Cherie), grand children, Meaghan and Paul, and two great grand children. Bob was predeceased by his parents Annie and Paul, his brothers Alex, Mike, John and Martin (Moose), and his rascal granddaughter Melissa. Bob’s first profession was as a teacher. He left teaching and with his best friend Nick Wesny, purchased County Meat Market in Welland. Later the sale of the market became the capital that allowed Bob and Isabella to realize Bob’s dream of becoming the owner of The City Tavern in Port Colborne, Ontario. Bob was always proud to say “the best wings in the city at The City”. That statement proved to be true when The City was awarded the 2001 Business of the Year award. It was well known around Port that if you had a team that needed a sponsor you could go and see Bob at the City. The family would like to extend sincere thanks to the staff at Royal Rose Place that always treated him as one of their family. Their kindness will never be forgotten. Arrangements entrusted to the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Bob’s life will take place when his family and friends can gather safely. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
